Well this was my second to last weigh in for the PDSAs contest and despite being on the steroids for mankyskinitus I lost…
So I am still on target for hitting the weight we thought I should be by the end of June (42 Kilos). So its extra Moogball training and squirrel chasing in order to make sure I keep on track.
Graph thing below:
Well I graced the weigh in centre today with my presence.
So apparently the target for this weigh in was for me to tip the scales at under 50 kilos. The humans were expecting it to be just under or even slightly over. Just goes to show what they know as I weighed in at a chicken dinner inducing 48.5 kilos. To be honest I was a bit surprised by this myself as although I had had a big pooh and everything that’s a lot of weight lost over the target I had set myself.
The vet bloke - apparently he wants to be called Steve as this makes him sound cooler, fair dos he’s a nice enough bloke so its the least I can do – was well happy too.
So I am about to pack the humans off to the shops to get me my promised chicken but first… its time to go surprise the squirrels in the garden.
Well I went over to see Steve at the PDSA in Liverpool today to have my official weigh in.
I have lost another 1.4 kilos and am now 50.8 kilos. The great news is my Body Condition Score has just dropped to 4 (Overweight) from 5 (Obese). So I guess that this diet muck is working.
I dare say some sort of graph will appear attached to this post in the near future. yeah … there it is.
Just realised that my meds have changed. I am now on 0.5mg of Soloxine as opposed to the 0.8mg i was previously on.
Not entirely sure what this means but hopefully it means that things are going well.
For those wondering what this Soloxine thing is its a drug that they are using to help with my thyroid probelms. What it does is to help my body regulate various hormones, in particular something called T3 and T4, etc so that my other organs can function properly. The condition I have is known as hypothyroidism and is easily and cheaply treated. The pills I am on cost about £10 a month and coupled with the diet (pah) has vastly improved my quality of life. I have much more energy for squirrel patrolling and moogball and am much happier.
some of the symptoms of hypothyroidism are: Continue reading
Puny humans have been “busy”.. aparantly.
Anyhow I have some news.
I have been selected as a finalist in the PDSAs pet fit club competition. I have a feeling that this means this stupid diet I am on will continue and that the odds of me getting a full Christmas dinner are diminishing – I will hold out hope though until the last minute. You can see my pet fit page here:- http://www.pdsa.org.uk/pet-health-advice/pdsa-pet-fit-club/48_maddison . You can also sponsor my weight loss and raise funds for the PDSA from there.
I *nearly* went on Telly last week but they wanted us to go to London at very short notice for a 5 am start so we said no. There is no way I am getting up at 5 am for anything … except maybe a big bowl of chicken. I have been on radio Merseyside though and am planning on attending some premiers once my fame takes off properly.
My weight is now down to 52.2 kilos which is great. I still have a way to go though until I hit my target weight. I am much better in myself and have started to chase the squirrels in the garden. Am liking this snow stuff, Benny is even more of a muppet when its about which is fun to watch.
Anyhow for you graph fans here is my weight chart
So whats all this about then?
Well seeing as I am on a bit of a diet seeing as I was 58 kilos and should be about 40ish. This is due to a variety of reasons – one being my underactive thyroid. I am now on medication for this and some other bits and am losing weight nicely. So … here is the deal. Iam weighed every Saturday at about 11:00am. On Saturday 18th of September I will publish my weight here and on the forums (http;//www.therefugeforums.org.uk/forums). Whoever correctly guesses my weight will pick an animal welfare or rescue organisation and I will donate £100 to it on behalf of the Refuge. In the event of two people correctly guessing my weight there will be a “Moog off” this will consist of me playing moogball and the peoples names being writen on A4 pieces of paper. The first piece of paper to be rolled over during the game of moogball will win. The exact rules of the game of moogball are quite complex but mainly consist of me pushing my ball around with my nose a lot.
In order to enter you will need to post on the forums here: http://www.therefugeforums.org.uk/forums/index.php?showforum=142 . If you are not already a member you will need to join in order to participate this is a painless process – well it is provided all the technical gubbins is working as it should do.
You should only be able to see your own posts and no one else’s. (Hosts and admin can see them all). after the weigh in I will change the forum permissions so that you can see all the posts. In order to make a guess just start a new topic stating:- The weight you think I will be and the organisation you would like to benefit.
After this date I will also publish all the weekly weigh in stats and graphs etc.
The vet bloke is very happy with my rate of weight loss. So he should be this diet food muck tastes like cardboard. He reckons it may take up to a year to get to my overall target weight of 38 Kilos as the rate will slow down once the initial burst has passed.
anyhow here are this weeks figures:
Now just for Kabbes:
|Weight lost (Kilos)||1.6||0.9||1.2|
|Mean weight lost (Kilos)||1.23|
|Median weight lost (Kilos)||1.2|
Well my weigh in today went well. Still going in the right direction but could probably do with losing a bit more weight… or thats what the puny humans are saying anyhow as they stuff their faces with lovely lovely smelling pizza.
My reckoning is that the increased exercise I am doing means I am putting on muscle, which of course weighs more than fat. I plan to demonstate this, and my vastly increased aerobic capabilities, by playing with my ball for a record amount of time later. I will get one of the humans to video it.
Especially for Kabbes as of the next set of fugures there will be some more in depth analysis of them and maybe even some statistical weird stuff (tbh i am just going to press keys at random and publish the output – no one is ever going to know).
so anyhow my figures are:
Well went for a weigh in today and:-
Its all going in the right direction and at a controlled pace. Its not good for me to lose weight too quickly as this will put strain on other parts of my body.
I am currently looking arround to see if there is a doggy slimmer of the year contest as I am sooo going to pwn that.
